Today's "Prep" Work

Today, I went about things a bit differently. I was sitting here and I realized that my hands tend to get cold when I type, especially over long periods of time. So, I decided that I had to have a pair of fingerless gloves. In the course of running a simple search on "fingerless gloves" on Google, I came across the coolest Etsy store! All she makes is wristlets and fingerless gloves of all lengths. It's called "Zen and Coffee". I definitely recommend checking it out. It's so neat! Needless to say, I fell in love with the most unlikely pair. lol Though, I did like several of them out there. Unfortunately, with our money the way it always is, I had to pass. Though, I definitely have it bookmarked to visit again in the future. ;-)

After I suffered that disappointment, I went on with my original goal, which was to find a knitting pattern to create my own fingerless gloves. I came across a great pattern here. Had I found this before Zen and Coffee's gloves, I would have been thrilled, as it's a two needle pattern that creates a glove that is form-fitting. Unfortunately, it feels like the pair I'm now making are below par. However, they'll still get the job done and will most likely last a lot longer. Not to mention I didn't have to spend any money to create them as I have plenty of yarn in my yarn bucket.

Also, last night, before I went to bed, I felt the need to write something, anything! My mind began to cast around for something to work on, and I'm happy to say that it settled on another part of some background information for my second book, "The Dark Rider." Every little bit I get done on that brings it one step closer to being ready to write. So that's thrilling stuff. :-)

So, here we are. Only 3 days from the release of the new Scrivener Windows beta, and 9 days to the start of NaNoWriMo! Whoo!!! Wait. 9 days? Or is that technically 10? Yeah... I'd better spend some good quality time with my second book tomorrow. I need to get that information in place. Once Scrivener releases, I'll be busy playing and getting it ready for NaNo. Time to get back to knitting! I don't want my fingers to get cold this November!
