I learned...

Today, I learned something interesting. I learned that I write faster, and better, if I'm not on my main computer. I might prefer the screen and the keyboard of my desktop computer over my Netbook, but for some reason, I can avoid the internet better on my Netbook. Weird how that works since it's perfectly capable of going online, and we have a wireless network in our home.

While at home today, I got a whopping 800 words typed on my desktop computer. So much for getting caught up and zooming along. *facepalm* Tonight, I went to a write-in. More people were there and we sort of talked more than we wrote, but I also cranked out another 800 words while there. Not bad when I was sitting and chattering away, sneaking in some writing when I could.

Tomorrow! Tomorrow I shall tuck myself into my writing corner and type away on my little Netbook. I seriously need to get caught up. That, and with the story line I still have tucked in my head, I'll go right past 50K words. I'd like to see the book finished this November, but I'll be okay with a win and then continue to the finish in December. I just have to be careful not to stop writing after November.

I have grand plans... grand plans. And I'd better either a) get started on it, or b) admit it's late and head to bed before I put myself in a nasty feedback loop of getting up exhausted in the morning so I feel the need to take a nap. That's what happened to me today. Then my nap was too long. And then I got nothing done. And then... It is a sad story, really. Yes, tomorrow I can try again and hope I get it right. :-D
