My Book is Boring

Okay, that does it! I decided my book is boring. Mind you, I have people tell me all the time that they like my writing, so maybe it's just me. But... I'm pretty sure this one IS boring. I mean, my writing "sprint" today talked about... a coffee mug. Whoo! *hits head on desk* Sorry. I actually enjoyed a few parts because I had to wake up my characters, but didn't want to come right out and say, "The alarm went off and they woke up." Talk about boring! So I did the first part through the use of sound until a character appeared on the scene who could pick up the "seeing" side of things.

I had a very short writing time today. I think it boils down to having 3 kids at home. lol Tomorrow, while they're at school, I shall strive to do better. I know that I'm way behind on my word count, but you know what? It's not that big of a deal. Right now, I'm more impressed that I'm sitting and writing every day, even if it's only 500 words. That's better than nothing!

I spent some time this evening typing in my third chapter. That is one drawback to writing by hand. I think I'll start typing it in every night. My hand is complaining at me right now. I'm waiting to get a call from its lawyer. However, I hope we can put off the lawsuit for awhile longer. I have 3 people waiting to read my book as it becomes available. Man, I hope I'm not disappointing them. What I mean by that is, "I sure hope I'm not sending them a boring book!" I am though, I know it. Though, while typing in part of my 3rd chapter tonight, I came across a few good parts. They need editing, of course, but that's not on the agenda this month.

Well, I'm going to head off and take a break. My hand is getting rather upset and is petitioning for a break. Since I need its cooperation to keep writing, I will honor its wishes.
