It turns out that I will have to continue writing this book by hand. I'm a little worried that means I won't make the 50K word goal by the end of the month, but I'll do my best! I'll admit that I will switch to the computer if I have to. However, I'll hold off on that until the final week. ;-)
The reason why I needed to switch to writing by hand is that my mind refused to focus on it while being confronted with my computer. So annoying. I guess the pull of technology has gotten stronger since last year. Imagine that. The only way I know to counter it is to turn it all off and use paper and pen. I do leave my Netbook up and running near me though. Oddly enough, it doesn't have near the pull that my main computer does. I use it to look up words to make sure they're the ones I want to use. So far, it's working well.
I'm currently sitting at just over 1,000 words for the day. However, I have plans to write more, which is good, since I'm behind on my word count. I have to write around 1732 words a day to finish on time. Yes. I need to get writing, and I hope that this story starts taking off more than it has so far or I'll be in trouble this year.
